Single fiber coating of viscose filaments with cellulose acetate for partially hydrophobic hybrid fibers

The focus of this work was to investigate the cellulose acetate (CA)–viscose (CV) interface in an all-cellulosic compound and evaluate feasibility hydrophobic CA-coatings on viscose fibers. Mechanical strengths foil-CA compounds were investigated by recoding stress-to-strain curves. For equivalent strain, composites generate higher stress than pure CA samples. coating CV fibers, fibers pretreated 2.5% mass sodium hydroxide solution drawn through a 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10% acetone dissolved CA. Properties coated with LSM microscopy, ATR-FTIR, DVS, determining fiber titer tenacity. A decrease tenacity vapor sorption is associated change due increasing shares Therefore, hypothesis hydrophobically fiber, via described process, mostly rejected, although double-coatings seem reduce condensation water internal structures at high humidity.
